Presence Illuminates Emptiness

This wisdom from Judith describes my own experience.

I was graced with a “spontaneous revelation of oneness” while crossing Pacific Ocean on a 35’ cruising sailboat.

It took me 25-years of seeking to discover the “sort of practice” that worked for me. I’ve now been practicing Realization Process for 15 years.

I am not a patient meditator. It is much easier for me to engage with the learning part of the RP experience when I am guided by another.

I initially followed Judith’s Advice

“To practice on your own, you can record yourself reading the instructions and follow them at your own pace. With these practices you become your own teacher, your own guide to your own being. Please be a kind teacher.”

But I soon learned, from attending RP classes, that when practicing with others the tangibleness of fundamental consciousness felt more available, stronger somehow. I found subtle depth more easily and quickly in an RP class than when I practiced on my own.

During a recent Healing Ground Teacher Training class an RP student asked:

“Why is it that I can feel the stillness so much more clearly when I practice with others – even on Zoom?”

Judith acknowledges the phenomenon of transmission between two people, especially throughout The Intimate Life. But transmission is an energy experience, albeit subtle.

Realization Process is not an energy practice. We can't transmit the stillness of fundamental consciousness to others. We can only be it, settle within it.

And Judith never speculates. When asked any Why question, she usually says "I don't know why, but I know we can experience it."

So I am venturing to speculate about that question a bit here...

Judith tells us with authority:

“Fundamental Consciousness is like a mirror. It reflects everything it pervades."

It feels to me that when a group of people attune together to fundamental consciousness, the shining from within of their aliveness is reflected in the mirror of the space.

Presence illuminates the Emptiness.

Also, the RP exercises soon become familiar. Practicing as your own guide doesn’t necessarily support you to meet each moment with the insight of new perspective.

A different tone of voice, an unexpected pacing, an added pointing here and there, all can have tremendous impact upon your opening into familiar territory.
