Experience Balance

Hello there,
An RP Colleague recently said to me
“But there’s not much to be explored with the Balance Points practice –
it’s quite straightforward.”
I was taken aback!
In the evolution of my personal experience with Realization Process, the Balance Points exercise has been of primary importance in my experience of, and stability in, embodied oneness with fundamental consciousness.
Judith Blackstone's book The Intimate Life has inspired me from the beginning of my Realization Process practice:
"The dimension of FC is absolutely still because it is balanced. Once you can experience this stillness as the ground of your being, as who you are, you can allow all of the movement of life, such as your thoughts, emotions, and sensation, to flow without obstruction."
That described exactly the experience of my Awakening at Sea.
For me, inhabiting the body and finding an experience of that “absolute stillness” proved the quickest way to what I was seeking. And also, it seemed, the easiest (for me) to develop subtlety and nuance within my attunement to the stillness.
Why didn’t my colleague see the nuances available in that practice?
I began to make inquiries amongst RP students and teachers. And I discovered something astonishing:
Many RP practitioners are not using to full potential
Judith's invaluable pointing in the Balance Points practices.

Judith writes in Belonging Here:
“Experience the absolute stillness of the balanced mind. Fundamental Consciousness is experienced as stillness because it is the dimension of perfect balance.”
The keyword in this description is experience. Judith uses it twice.
EXPERIENCE the Stillness is important!
Yet my inquires show me that many people simply find both points at once and know the quietness of this action as the “balanced mind."
But there is more.
You can uncover a direct embodied attunement to fundamental consciousness, oneness, by refining that balanced mind towards more subtle quality and “experience the stillness”
In Belonging Here Judith encourages us to explore that subtly:
"...to find the space inside both knees at the same time can help you enter into, or uncover, the dimension of FC. You will find that very subtle attunement is required in order to find the inside of both knees at exactly the same time (without going back and forth between them.)”

And there are RP practitioners experiencing a physicality with the Balance Points practice. One student related:
“The balance practice is great when I’m out walking my dog and my sciatica acts up. I balance my hip sockets and pain goes away. It really works!”
And I have had that same experience – I used the Balance Points, and body mechanics advice from a wise Physical Therapist, to completely resolve a chronic pain issue that had wracked my body for over 5 years.
But that's not enough for oneness!

More important, for my overall realization and wholeness, was the discovery that balancing any two points in my body provided me with the feeling of a place to allow my embodied being, the most subtle experience of myself, be received in oneness with the stillness of fundamental consciousness.
Balance Points is a whole body and being experience.
Mind, heart, & body settle into oneness, refined and received in this experience of balanced mind and body. The heart opens in the safety of vast stillness everywhere (it’s part of me!).
Balance any two points in my body and I
"become one with the absolute stillness of my balanced consciousness."
This feels like what Judith describes in The Fullness of the Ground:
"Fundamental consciousness is experienced as stillness because it is the dimension of perfect balance…The stillness emerges as we attune to it, and, with practice, as we let go into it, as we experience it as the ground of our own being."
More and more I discover I am able to let go into/becoming one with all the subtle qualities the body makes available to the experience of fundamental consciousness.
And this is a nuance and subtlety that I realize many RP practitioners are failing to explore in this practice, Balance Points.
Below is a rather detailed exploration of Balance Points to help you begin your more subtle exploration. Let yourself EXPERIENCE the stillness as a “place” to let go into & feel your whole being & body received…
With Love...
Candace
BTW - We'll continue our gender musings in the new year.
And Please Note: Everything I describe and discuss arises out of my own embodied nondual experience, directed by RP practices and informed by questions, study, and subtle discernment. My descriptions, and interpretations, are based upon how fundamental consciousness feels to me, in my body, and how I interpret that experience.
RP OFFERINGS FROM CANDACE
Now Available! For RP Teachers:
We’re excited to share that the live workshop we hosted in May has now been transformed into an on-demand, nine-chapter workshop series!
Inside our new course portal, you’ll have lifetime access to the full set of lessons (9 Chapters, 2.5 hours), along with handouts, exercise practice recordings, a free month in the RP Practice Portal, and reflection questions designed to help you integrate the material at your own pace.
Here’s what one participant shared about their workshop experience:
"There has never been a class like this before, and I have been hoping for someone to share their process about RP and how they communicate it to others (without my having to observe from a distance)—and Candace did that. It felt like a natural evolution for RP and definitely offered me some great ideas."
Whether or not you were able to join us live last June,
this is a wonderful way to explore the expanded material in your own timing.
